About our club

The Palm Beach Yacht Club is a Private Club for Members and their guests. It is one the Palm Beaches most established clubs with a rich history entwined in the early years of development along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Club's members, yesterday and today, are drawn from all spheres of life and intersect professionally, socially, and in leisure pursuits naturally adding to the Club's distinction. The ambiance of the Club, its staff and facility, are well appreciated by Club members and the local community which benefits greatly from the Club's many contributions to local charities.

The Marina is open to the public and has 45 slips to accommodate boats from 35 feet up to 125 feet.

Our History
During the autumn of 1922 a contract to build the Clubhouse for the Palm Beach Yacht Club was issued. The early beginnings of the delightful dining experience our members enjoy today are in the thick of the development of the Palm Beaches.

We were known as the 8th Street Dock when we were rechartered in 1911. The waters of the Intracoastal and the Atlantic and Gulf Stream were teeming with sea life. The early settlers of the Palm Beaches truly enjoyed the sun and the sea. Throughout the years the Intracoastal was the course of choice for many regattas. The Washington's Birthday Regatta being the most notable.

E.R. Bradley was noted for his love of sports and the Intracoastal proved a grand course for the Washington Birthday regatta and he even sponsored the Cup in his name. The sort of boats used in these regattas were state-of-the-art. The races started and finished on the shores of Palm Beach island and West Palm Beach. The Commodore of the Club always started the race with a bang. The thrill of participating encouraged many to race for the joy of attaining the Bradley Gold Challenge Cup which was set aside for only one.

Among the races were fishing runs to Bimini, Cuba, and points south everyone knew where to get hooked up the 8th Street Dock! All who belonged to the Club back then had a focus on fishing. Today, the Club with its updated clubhouse creates an ambient atmosphere to enjoy fruit de mar and classic American fare.

The Club is active in supporting community charities and fundraisers never forgetting its civic duty. Club member sare also very prominent in contributing to our communities. Over the years the Club and Marina have seen the skyline of the Palm Beaches alter but the Club remains constant with its commitment to its members.
